News: NEW Short breaks small grants funding for community providers / projects

Durham County Council short breaks have a new small grants funding that is available for a time-limited period for community providers/ projects who would like to increase capacity and/ or accessibility to create community activities for children and young people with SEND.

Durham County Council and Health Commissioners would like to further increase opportunities for children and young people with special educational needs and/ or disabilities (SEND) to be able to take part in universal local community activities.

This funding opportunity will run as a pilot to allow Commissioners to work with providers to understand the range of support required to allow increased accessibility for children with SEND in universal activities.

Community providers/ projects can apply for funding to allow them to increase access for children with SEND in existing community activities for all children, or separate existing or new SEND-only activities.
